Classifications

Classifications help you categorize people in your congregation for record-keeping and reporting purposes.

Common Classifications​

ClassificationDescription
MemberFull church member
Regular AttenderAttends regularly but not a member
Guest/VisitorFirst-time or occasional visitor
Non-AttenderMember who no longer attends
Sunday School MemberEnrolled in Sunday School

Managing Classifications​

Viewing & Editing Classifications​

  1. Navigate to People → Classification Manager
  2. Here you can:
    • Add - Type a new name and click "Add New Classification"
    • Edit - Change any existing classification name
    • Reorder - Use up/down arrows to change display order
    • Delete - Remove unused classifications

Important: Click "Save Changes" before using any buttons, or your edits will be lost!


Using Classifications​

In Reports and Exports​

When generating reports or exporting data, you can filter by classification to target specific groups:

  • Export only Members for a directory
  • Generate a visitor follow-up list
  • Create mailing lists by classification

Changing a Person's Classification​

For an Individual:

  1. Open the Person's record
  2. Click Edit
  3. Find the Classification dropdown
  4. Select the new classification
  5. Click Save

For an Entire Family:

  1. Open the Family record
  2. Click Assign a New Classification
  3. Select the new classification
  4. Confirm the change

Warning: Changing a family's classification updates ALL family members, overriding any individual classifications.
